Unusual Demont Returns With “NIGHTTIME,” Announces 'Chrysalis' Project
Though perhaps better known by its government name of âOctober,â this time of year is a crucial area of liminal space. You might not know it, but right now you are caught in between autumn and cuffing season, and the latter is approaching at speeds previously unknown to man. Looking to shed a few pounds to attract that special someone before itâs too late? Hereâs a tip: be an Unusual Demont fan.
Second to Frank Ocean fans (how are yâall holding up?), Unusual Demont fans are one of the least-fed demographics in pop culture. After Unusual Demontâs 2022 was spent playing shows, festivals, dropping singles, etc., you would think that in 2023 weâd be fed the same way, right? Sadly youâd be wrong. The drought has been unreal, and the fans are foaming at the mouth for new music from the Wisconsin-born king. However, everything has changed. Dinner is served in the form of the brand new single âNIGHTTIME,â released ahead of Demontâs sophomore project Chrysalis.
Do you remember the first time your mother held you in her arms? That feeling of security, serenity, and tranquility pales in comparison to the opening moments of âNIGHTTIME.â Over delicate guitar melodies and an ever-transforming mix, Unusual Demont makes a powerful reintroduction, reflecting on the memory of riding his bike over to his love interest. Seconds later, smooth R&B stylistics and drum 'n' bass percussion meet in sacred harmony to form a track that is nothing if not a strong contender for your weekly rotation.
On the creation of âNIGHTTIME,â Demont reveals â[this] is one of my favorite songs Iâve ever made. With my life becoming the most chaotic itâs ever been during the creation of the project itâs on. I found myself, at times, writing about the more calm experiences Iâd had in life, to keep my music a safe space for me... This is my first song in a very long time, and Iâm excited to say that itâs also a new sound that Iâve never done before.â
