Cruza Confront Their Paranoia in 'Paranoia Pack'

Hypnotic and intoxicating, Cruza’s allure is informed by the fact that there’s no other artist that sounds even remotely like them. Their newest drop, the four-track EP Paranoia Pack, is a testament to the undeniable: they are the ones to watch.

The four-member collective currently stands as alternative R&B’s most captivating, offering just enough to keep us hungry yet watching. Featuring vocals from Mamii and Sailor Goon, Paranoia Pack ushers in the beginning of a new era for AJ, Charity, Adam, and Sago—an era that demands their rightful flowers, ones that can only be earned by the artists purging something truly unique and soul-bred.

With chilling guitar riffs and immersive sonic landscapes, Cruza bows to enmeshment, tangling so many sounds that a new one is formed. What is born is something beyond the definable, an eerie subgenre you can’t help but fall victim to. While they’re notorious for letting vocals fade into their abyss, this is not at the expense of a haunting pen game. “Do you think our demons are lovers / Do they dance in ways we can’t / Have they found some peace in each other,” are whispered through the lead single “Hypnotherapy,” beautifully written without stomping over the track. “Another Hit” is more love song-leaning, though there’s always a bite of venom in all that they do.

Following their Black Market Flea performance in LA and teasing an upcoming tour, it seems their gradual rise is officially beginning to pick up speed. As their four-pack EP only further proves, Cruza is disinterested in palatability and in full devotion to their own groove.
