BIZZY Is All of Us in “I Don’t Get Breakups”

Rising indie-pop artist and seasoned singer-songwriter BIZZY launches us back into the memories of our own failed relationships in her debut EP I Don’t Get Breakups, which serves as a reminder of just how little we understand the tumultuous reality of breakups

After much anticipation for the EP, following the viral success of her previously released singles, "Just Yet," "I Don’t Get Breakups," and "Spinach in my Teeth," BIZZY deftly captures just how messy our emotions can be—both good and maybe not so good—and the painfully triumphant realization of just how much our exes might actually suck.

I Don’t Get Breakups opens with "Just Yet (His Side)," a rendition of the song originally released in 2022, giving us a chance to hear the story from both sides. Setting the precedent of where we are headed for the rest of the EP, we are thrown right into the deep end with the tough realizations of “Clean Cut (Heartstrings Version).” We experience the back and forth of not wanting to let go but knowing that the only way to heal is to start over; sometimes wounds can only heal when we have a clean cut. The instrumental of the powerful strings adds volume and impact to the emotional state of the entire affair. Eventually, we see emotions even out as we enter the peak of the EP, "Spinach In My Teeth." This track is the epitome of, “Wow I can’t believe I cried over a man nobody liked and why did nobody tell me he sucked.” It’s a piece of rage and mess that articulates the battle within ourselves of discovering that love really did blind us.

In the end, BIZZY entrances us with a small moment of love, regret, and desperation.
