Sól Delivers an Infectious Message to All Her Haters With "Jealous"

A reclamation of power against the envious eye, Sól proves having haters means you’re shining brighter in her latest single “Jealous.”

The Chicago-based songstress has mastered the art of captivation, with everything she creates being equally alluring. Opening up with a hypnotic reverb, the single slowly morphs into a dance track with an '80s hue. It feels celestial, introducing you to new galaxies while lyrically exploring something much more terrestrial.

Whether it’s from an earthly partner or those that feast on your downfall, jealousy is a difficult emotion to spot and an even harder emotion to admit feeling. This song leaves room for all of its iterations, and with lines like “my loss is not your win,” you’ll find yourself spelling out “Jealous” right alongside Sól and maybe even reflecting a bit on the intentions of who’s watching you.

Also having written and produced the track, it’s very easy to get lost in the haze of “Jealous,” thanks to Sól’s first love: visual arts, which eventually led her to explore production. She builds a world in her music that reaches all of your senses, and you can taste the love she’s poured into every synth and layered harmony.

A perfectly concocted blend of R&B and dance-pop, “Jealous” is delicious and a clear indicator that Sól deserves our investment. After all, if you’ve made someone crave your spotlight enough to the point of envy, you must be doing something right.
