Flyana Boss Make For a Fearsome and Charismatic Duo in 'Boffum'

Flyana Boss personify bright, assertive energy that is irresistible.

Detroit, MI and Dallas, TX natives Bobbi Lanea and Folayan Kunerede make up a dynamic duo of sassy girl bosses. Known as Flyana Boss, they possess a unique hip-hop flavor that is colorful and charismatic. Now, the twosome have just released their EP Boffum, and it has that same glowing vibrancy we have come to love from the pair. The project oozes with feel-good rhythms and fierce vocals, crafting a confident two-track body of work as bold as the best friends themselves.

Boffum opens with “Really Really,” a tenacious track that focuses on setting boundaries when dating and learning not to lose sight of your individuality. The piece flaunts self-assured lyrics, such as “I like to be alone, on my own / So if I invite you over know that you are special / Kick off your shoes, but don’t overstay your welcome.” With those lines, it is clear that the girls are setting a limit from the get-go. That display of self-worth is powerful. “Nu Nu” continues that strong conviction as they passionately sing about challenging others’ expectations. Their unique flow skating atop daring, in-your-face beats pull listeners in with its raw potency.

The two multi-instrumentalists met at a music college in Los Angeles. They formed an instant bond that they knew would be unbreakable. They began collaborating and the result is a hip-hop group that embodies pure magnetism. Their tongue-in-cheek lyrics fused with fiery beats make for the perfect captivating combination.
