There are no two ways about it, Faouzia is destined for pop stardom. The 20-year-old Moroccan-born, Canadian-bred tour de force crafts sweeping, cinematic pop like it's second nature. Having previously demonstrated her ever-impressive vocal range as a solo artist and on collaborative singles with the likes of John Legend and Kelly Clarkson, Faouzia returns to us today with "Hero," an emphatic pop stunner.

"Hero" arrives just in time for sunnier horizons. It's everything and more you could hope for from a veritable summer anthem: emotive, infectious, and emanating a self-assured confidence with each and every earth-shattering vocal run. Pairing bold, honest lyrics with iridescent production, courtesy of Alex Koste, listening to "Hero" feels like taking an injection of confidence straight to the heart.

The effortlessly confident single was inspired by realizing not just your own worth but your worth in the context of a relationship. "I wrote 'Hero' late one night while taking a break from studying for my exams. Thematically, the song discusses having fair and reasonable expectations from the love you give and receive in a relationship or a friendship. It’s a two-way street and any healthy relationship needs both sides to be supportive of each other," shares Faouzia.

"Hero" arrives hand-in-hand with a music video that asks you to "choose your own hero." From the fantastical world of "Sweetzia" to her multiple Mortal Kombat-inspired incarnations, the Ariel Michelle-directed video is a genre-spanning feast for the senses that pairs perfectly with Faouzia's latest rapturous earworm.
