Evenson Unveils His Brooding “If I Ever Feel Better” Video

Haitian-American artist Evenson crafts a unique type of melancholic pop in his latest release “If I Ever Feel Better.” His deep, velvety tone floats atop synth-driven arrangements to construct the ideal misty masterpiece.

The captivating track is Evenson’s way of finally getting the closure he needed. Leaving a significant other to focus on your music career is not an easy thing to do. This song is a profound exploration of his actions and whether he made the right choices. Evenson admits, “In truth, I wasn’t fully mentally stable during that time. Would I still make the decision looking back in time? Would I still leave her, or would I stay? I needed to write this song to fully open the next chapter of my life.”

Much of Evenson’s music is highly moody and emotive. He wears his heart on his sleeve and that pure openness attracts fans to his music. Evenson explains, “One of my missions is to change that; to make it acceptable for a black man to be fully present in his vulnerability and sensitivity.”

The visuals have the same sulky vibes as the tune itself. In a concrete house surrounded by barren trees, there is a dark, gloominess felt throughout the video. Within the video, you see Evenson continuously sitting and standing, lost in intense contemplation.
