eundohee Is Light as a Feather in New Single "Hummingbird"
Korean folk-rock artist eundohee shows off her new summery sound on the gorgeously optimistic single "Hummingbird." The track further showcases eundohee's knack for writing thoughtful and creative music that explores the complexities of human emotion in a way that feels relatable and heartwarming.
"Hummingbird" opens with a warm, lowkey combination of subdued percussion and catchy acoustic guitar lines. The singer's gentle vocals weave in and out of the composition, marveling at the hummingbird's ability to fly backwards and upside and "spreading the lightness of life." She professes that she dreams of being a hummingbird herself and will do her best to find that kind of freedom in life."'Hummingbird' symbolizes the enjoyment of life and lightness of being," says the artist about the new track. "For me, it was what I wanted to be. I wanted to make a lighter, happier, calmer sound."
The single is from the artist's upcoming EP Kookaburra, which is set to be released on May 19. On the five-track release, the Korean native explores themes of self-reflection, mental health, and relationships with an exuberant positivity rarely seen in her back catalog.
"After releasing my first full-length album [Unforeseen], I spent some time thinking about what kind of songs I wanted to write and what sound I wanted to make." she explains. "While mulling this over, I found myself in a bit of an unintended slump, I would say now that this EP album seems to be the result of overcoming that slump. I think that [Kookaburra] is an EP that marks a new beginning for me as well."
