DLG. Kicks Things Up a Notch With First "DROWN IN YOU" and "CLOSE ONE!" Double Release
Known as DLG., Austin-born, LA-based singer-songwriter Dave De La Garza is kicking off his “2 on 2†series, releasing two tracks the second day of every month.
With an eclectic taste for sonic psychedelia, DLG. is a true artist in every sense of the word. He’s built an intimate relationship with nature's whispers, exploring different parts of the wilderness to spark creativity and birth something musically pure. His first drop of the series proves whatever he’s cooking is a perfect cocktail.
“DROWN IN YOU†has notes of Jungle influence in it, a begging to be fully immersed in another being. With blurred bodies and sensual longing, this ethereal track has a bass you can’t help but fall prisoner to. “CLOSE ONE!†takes a much more upbeat tone, a turquoise tune that’s effortlessly dancey. It’s an excellent track to fall in love to, with DLG. noting “It's a reflection on the attitude I've had this past year. I listen to this one a lot while snowboarding, it makes me go faster.†It’s palpable how much fun the artist had during its inception, moving through you infectiously.
While you can find his music on shows like HBO’s Sex Lives of College Girls and Netflix’s You, it’s clear DLG. is solidifying his sound as an explorative musician, taking inspiration from a life lived with eyes wide open. Luckily, we’ve got two tracks to hold us over until next month, where we’ll meet his new set of skin.
