All CLUB INDGO Wants to Do Is "Show You Off"

Rushing to maintain relevancy is detrimental to true art, and Boston rap collective CLUB INDGO have taken the time to be intentional about crafting the follow-up to their debut single. Having stayed quiet in stirred anticipation since the release of âAre You In The Room,â which amassed just shy of one million streams, âShow You Offâ is unexpectedly indie pop and exactly on time.
The synth-driven single is easy to swoon to and contagiously fun, a piece of obvious tangible evidence that the group enjoyed the process of bringing this song to life. Sandwiched in between verses from Sança and Juelz is an infectious hook courtesy of ProSwervez, who also produced the singleâs instrumental. "Show You Off" speaks to the desire of wanting to shout from the rooftops a love unrequited, knowing you should be moving on but falling in deeper all the same.
As a collective, CLUB INDGO's magic is informed by their friendship, making it clear that the camaraderie isnât feigned nor professionally orchestrated. The singleâs accompanying music video showcases the seven-member consortium drunk with merry and vitamin D, hitting the Carlton dance from stunning views of Quebec. Each playing a specific role in their ecosystem, they support the next contender while shining in their own right.
Above all else, âShow You Offâ is clear indication that CLUB INDGO doesnât plan to be artistically predictable for the sake of being palatable. Theyâre at the mercy of their own fluidity, shapeshifting into whatever work of art decides to be born from the magic they individually throw into the pot.
