ALUS Puts a Sexual Twist on Willy Wonka in "Cherry" Video [Premiere]

Female empowerment will always be relevant, and ALUS is an exceptional advocate for this growing movement. ALUS has always been inspired by her violinist grandmother, who studied at Julliard and went on to perform alongside Frank Sinatra. Although ALUS has had the honor of performing the national anthem at the beloved Madison Square Garden, she is about to reach another accolade with her new Willy Wonka-inspired single "Cherry."

On "Cherry," ALUS exclusively shared with us,

“'Cherry' is a women's anthem for creating that fantasy world of desire. When I wrote it, I felt empowered as a woman to say ‘I know you want me, but you have to be invited first.' It’s a women's anthem in a play-hard-to-get kinda way, when you know someone wants you, you really live in a fantasy of what could happen next."

Truthfully speaking, we all have desires that eat us alive, but ALUS reminds us that we can only fulfill these if everyone involved is willing. ALUS was heavily inspired by the recognizable "Oompa Loompa" song from Willy Wonka & the Chocolate Factory, which is drizzled throughout the sensual track.

ALUS continued,

"The visuals for 'Cherry' is a collection of fantasies dreamt up through color palettes and of course - cherries! Every look has cherries infused in it somehow, whether I'm lying on a cherry, holding a cherry, or I'm the cherry in your martini. It was also only right for the 'Cherry' video to be led by little people, with me playing your modern day female Willy Wonka, they loved the song and how it was flipped into a sexy anthem."
