Almondmilkhunni’s “MISS U†is an anthem for the lovesick, exploring notes of R&B and hyperpop to make something deliciously simple yet rich.
The Philadelphia native is finding herself as an artist by exploring the edges of different sounds and prancing infectiously along the middle. She’s running forward the baton songstresses like Cassie and Christina Millian have passed on, while still adding that splash of plant-based authenticity.
Produced alongside WAJ and David Burris, “MISS U†features Almondmilkhunni’s vocals layered over strums and galactic whistles to create a sound that could only come straight from the early 2000s. The self-aware hunni meets her own irrationality with grace, admitting to her self-destruction every time she’s far from her lover’s scent. One can only speculate that she may be hinting at her relationship with 5SOS’s Calum Hood, though regardless, it’s a naked look into her heart.
