ThxSoMch Is Absolutely Done With Your Bullshit in "Hate."

Rising indie alt-rock artist ThxSoMch is back with another cutthroat single, "Hate." The anthemic single is a high-energy blend of post-punk and hyperpop elements, perfect for anyone absolutely done with manipulative people and their bullshit.
"Hate." opens with a fuzzed-out version of the chorus, building suspense with its distant yet enraged vocals. When the track finally explodes, listeners are launched into a sonic space full of persistent percussion and bass, catchy, dreamy guitar riffs, and biting lyrics. In the single, the singer expresses his growing frustration and anger towards someone constantly running around, causing problems, and acting in a contradictory and manipulative way. As the song continues, ThxSoMch expresses his growing despair and possibly suicidal thoughts because of the person's actions, especially on lines like, "Be careful hon' / Stop telling me on / And I can't move on / I think I'm probably flawed / And I'd kill myself at four in the morning / Pills probably gone."
The music video, directed by Tommy Kilijoy, is an engaging, high-octane visual that follows the artist and company on a night of destruction. The video opens with ThxSoMch and his friends breaking into an empty mall in the middle of the night, riding dirt bikes through the halls, and causing chaos. Amid the evening's chaos, the crew's escapades escalate to destroying the inside stores, spray painting the wall with the single's name, making their mark, and running off with the money before the cops arrive.
"Hate." serves as the multi-talented Canadian artist's first release of 2023 after he spent 2022 blowing our minds with a series of mind-bending, genre-blending releases. First making his mark with the release of his debut single, "Runaway (Move Quickly)," a sparkling, hyperpop jam that immediately captured our attention despite its short run time, it was inarguably "SPIT IN MY FACE!" that kept our eyes firmly glued on this rising star. Having amassed over 38 million streams on Spotify alone, "SPIT IN MY FACE!" blends elements of grunge and post-punk brilliantly and effectively, catapulting the enigmatic artist to the next level.
