The Devil Wears Prada Revisit Lead Single “Salt” Featuring Rory Rodriguez of Dayseeker | THE NOISE

Self-proclaimed metalcore dropouts The Devil Wears Prada have released a brand new version of “Salt,” the anthemic lead single from the group’s eighth full-length album Color Decay. This time, the Ohio-based band teamed up with multi-tone vocalist Rory Rodriguez of American post-hardcore band Dayseeker.

Embodying the song’s theme of battling stagnancy and continually fighting to move forward, the re-imagined version showcases one of the group’s favorite songs in a new light. "After playing 'Salt' around the world for the last year, it became obvious that something was happening with the connection of this song and we wanted to do something special with it," the band commented.

This new rendition of “Salt” is characterized by combative energy, juxtaposing slow, cathartic moments with explosive barrages of percussion. With his raw and expressive vocals, Rodriguez drives home the emotional weight of the song when he sings, “And sometime I get so caught up that I forget / That all of our words only means what’s behind them / You can’t throw gasoline on a fire / And say you tried to put it out.”

Kicking off this September, The Devil Wears Prada will embark on a co-headlining Metalcore Dropouts tour with Fit For A King. The tour stretches from September 15th to October 19th and will also feature special guests Counterparts and Landmvrks.
