Sam Valdez Can't Shake Her "Toothache" in New Vintage Visuals [Premiere]

Sam Valdez brings us a relatable break-up anthem with her new single "Toothache." The echoing shoegaze, Americana track highlights Valdez's staple sound, while delivering a fresh and haunting atmosphere, acting as a glowing backdrop for her storytelling lyrics.

The new video follows Valdez around Los Angeles, allowing audiences to tag along in her vintage Mercedes convertible, driving up and down the stereotypical palm tree lined streets. The hazy shots emanate a genuine feeling of laid-back California life, with rays of sun beaming into the visuals and blue skies shimmering above. Valdez shares, “For the video we borrowed this old car and shot around echo park in LA. I wanted to shoot in my apartment and around my neighborhood because the song is really personal and I wanted it to feel like the experience I was having.” Succeeding in establishing an intimate feel, both sonically and visually, Valdez brings an essence of sincerity in everything she does.

"Toothache" features wistful melodies, gentle, ethereal vocals and reverberating guitars, providing everything we have come to love from the Nevada born artist. The delightfully mellow track is just another taste of what we can expect from Valdez in the coming months and we're waiting at the edge of our seats to see what she does next.
