While it’s far too easy to lose ourselves in the deluge of new music releases that grace us every week, one thing that cannot and should not be overlooked is the art of the music video. With the heyday era of MTV long behind us, Rewind sees us taking a look back at a handful of our favorite music videos of the past week.

Then the gritty realism of Militarie Gun and visual artist Will Acuña is the perfect remedy, a collision of beautiful apprehension, collage, and individual in collision with the group, this is a heartache tune to use the headache.

Saint Levant - "Nails"

Saint Levant delivers on this poignant and perfectly petty tune with a heavy dose of mixed subgenres spread over a lumbering dance beat, a full remember me when treatment paired with internet gadfly Mia Khalifa. Directed by Mattias Russo-Larsson and magically styled by creative director Lewis Atallah, this Wes Anderson adjacent, fast-paced, envy-inducing lifestyle jam about nails, fake mustaches, style, and confident pastiche nails it. Bliss Samsa - "Cuddled"

If frantic, brevity in both editing and length, hyperaware videos are your jam, then this one-two-punch high-energy narrative about cuddling is perfect for you. This one defies explanation, but if you can accept fast-paced surrealism, or have the flashbacks to accompany this song, then this is a must-watch.

Grrrl Gang - "Spunky!"

How does one craft a visual accompaniment to a relentlessly punky but charming song about being "born in the pit?" Well, for starters, the Bathroom Girls (aka Carkultera Wage See and Nadine Hanisyak) lean into the energy of a sweaty, fiery, and fun live show, both as a performer and audience member and let it marinate. Seen, felt, and heard above.

BETWEEN FRIENDS - "What’s Up"

We’ve all been there before, calling our boo bear, wondering whats up, were they at, what's going on and maybe, if needed, poisoning it all with a little revenge to make a point. Taking this upbeat mind obsession of a tune, director Jimmy Regular took a little lack of communication to a brash and bashing conclusion; hit above for the grand reveal.
