R&B Visionary Lucky Daye Teases Long-Awaited Debut Album With Hypnotizing Second Installment, II

If you have yet to familiarize yourself with Lucky Daye, it's about time you jump on the bandwagon. The New Orleans-native made headlines in 2018 with his  I  EP,  also the first installment of his upcoming RCA-debut album Painted. The EP featured his debut single, "Roll Some Mo," which propelled Daye into the limelight with a spot on Spotify's New Music Friday playlist.

Following the success of the first installment, Daye is back again with the upcoming album's second installment, II, a promise that he is set to ride the wave in 2019. Composed of four tracks, including an earlier single, "Karma," it is evident that there is something addicting about Daye, and we cannot get enough. Integrating smooth vocals and elements of funk and jazz, Lucky Daye is the epitome a refreshed, reimagined R&B artist.

Of the four tracks, "Karma" and "Paint It" stand out. "Karma" is a satisfying breed between Frank Ocean and Ginuwine. Right from the first note, the track is catchy, funky and leaves you bobbing your head back and forth. "Paint It" continues to pull influence from Frank Ocean with the incorporation of heavy vocal modulations. A pleasing blend of rap and infectious vocals, the track is another one to bob around to.

With the debut album set for an upcoming release and the praise surrounding the first two installments, Lucky Daye is a promising act and one worth following. Be sure to catch him on tour with Ella Mai, set to kick off on February 12th in Vancouver.
