Brash and feverish, Paris Texas explodes beyond the laws of genre in âEverybodyâs Safe Untilâ¦,â furthering their alternative hip-hop reign and building even more anticipation for their recently announced debut album Mid Air.
The third single to drop from the project, due out July 21, sees Paris Texas viciously hungry to prove just how worthy they are of the critical acclaim theyâve already garnered. Itâs rare to see a name cultivate such high-quality attention before theyâve yet to fully debut, but itâs undeniably warranted. Their experimental sound is off-putting and deeply infectious, proving theyâre only interested in making what they themselves want to hear. While many have found pride in having Paris Texas be their best-kept secret, âEverybodyâs Safe Untilâ¦â is already proving to be what separates them from students to teachers.
The love children of The Gorillaz and Flatbush Zombies, âEverybodyâs Safe Untilâ¦â honors Paris Texasâ villainous-esque sound. With heavy bass and sinister storytelling, the song can encompass every corner of your car yet unsettlingly nestle itself behind your neck. Singing of death crawling from within, itâs almost as if they aim to make you uncomfortable, because it is only in the discomfort that you tilt your head enough to see from their perspective. Paris Texas demand to be blaring, in all capitals and several exclamations.
âWeâve never been this excited to show yâall a piece of work in our lives,â the duo shared via Instagram. Having to create amidst pressurizing pseudo-fame and lifeâs inevitable woes, theyâre staring back at something theyâre not afraid to be immensely proud of, continuing, âWe had to keep it pushing for real not even knowing what was next. Working through breakups and deaths and weird friends, all that cliche biopic shit. But trust me when I say this shit fire for real. Like after this album Iâm throwing all that humble shit out the window.â
