Lauren Sanderson Sounds More Self-Assured Than Ever on the Biting  "Tongue Tied"

Lust can shape-shift through many of life's seasons, whether it's an era of yearning for it, basking in its deliciousness, or grieving in solitude. Lauren Sanderson's latest single "Tongue Tied" just so happens to be the anthem for the "I'm gonna be a little messy and toxic because I'm bored and hot enough to get away with it" season, and we are very much here for it.

Coming hot off the heels of her last single "THERAPY!," which was enough to solidify her as the new grunge supreme, "Tongue Tied" proves that the Midwest native has still got plenty of bite left in her.

The song explores attraction with a drizzle of lies and animosity. With lines like "Tell your girl I don’t like to share / I play games, but won’t play fair," we offer condolences to the lover that got caught in her crossfire, while simultaneously thanking you for inspiring such a wretched love song.

Sanderson has offered us soft acoustics and vulnerability before, never quite letting herself be bound by any singular form of artistry. But we seem to be witnessing her blossom into the fullest version of herself the louder she gets; it's never deafening, always fully electrifying.

"Tongue Tied" is self-resourced confidence, on steroids, with tax. She's described the single as having "smoke-a-joint-on-the-highway, make-out-at-a-redlight" energy, and we couldn't think of a better description. It's the color red and the flavor of fire.

What makes Lauren Sanderson so dangerous is her awareness of her irresistibility. Her allure is palpable and it isn't just because she's hot - it's because she KNOWS she's hot. She's personified bold lettering, the queer f*ck boy we all desperately want the attention of, and we have no doubt that this is just the beginning.
