Krooked Tongue Get Wild and Run Free in New Single "Velociraptor" | The Noise

Quick off the back of November's critically acclaimed single "Lupines," Bristol-based rock trio Krooked Tongue kicked off 2023 with a bang on their new single "Velociraptor." On the sharp track, the band, comprised of lead singer and bassist Oli Rainsford, drummer Harry Pritchard, and guitarist Dan Smith, has presented an anthem encouraging listeners to find their inner animal and let it loose, blending sonics from post-punk and slack rock scenes effortlessly.

"Velociraptor" is fierce and effortlessly cool with its infectious guitar riffs, lurking bass lines, and tight percussion. The combined pulse with the guitar and bass allows lead singer Rainsford, who's doing double duty as the bassist, to vocally surge through the music with ease. Although his voice has that confident swagger heard in last year's "Lupines," there's a beautiful, carefree freedom in how he carries it alongside lyrics that motivate listeners to break free.

"You have to find space in this fucked up world to have fun, get wasted, kiss and tell," shares the lead singer. "We're not here for a long time, so it may as well be a good time."

"Velociraptor" is the second single taken from their upcoming sophomore EP. Before focusing on their latest releases, the band spent 2020 honing in on their skills in and out of the studio and put out their acclaimed debut EP, No Vacancy Hotel, in February of 2022, which has since amassed over 150,000 streams and saw support from the likes of Ones To Watch, HardBeat Magazine and Distorted Sound Mag.
