Indie Punk Act Sorry Mom Fight Feeling Trapped On New Single "Shaving My Legs" | THE NOISE

New York-based femme punk trio, Sorry Mom, continue to stun listeners with the release of their latest face-punching single, "Shaving My Legs." The raging single is an empowering, vulnerable track that offers another glimpse into the band's debut full-length babyface, out May 12th.

The fast-paced track wastes no time, launching listeners into a sonic space full of fiery guitar riffs, crashing percussion, throbbing basslines, and angsty vocals. Lead singer Juno reveals to us her mistakes and regrets, singing, "My apologies for making a scene/ sometimes sitting so still can make me so mean/ it's possible I misinterpreted/ all the shit you did/ all the shit you said." The song continues to rage, wading through complicated emotions of feeling stuck and unable to find a sense of stability.

"'Shaving My Legs' is the first track off our upcoming album, babyface, and is an introduction to the album's overall exploration of suburban despair," the band shares. "This track explores the feeling of being trapped, of promising, again and again, to start tomorrow while tomorrow never seems to come." They continue, "'Shaving My Legs' centers the feeling of needing to be stronger, or more 'normal,' to overcome what everyone else seems to have already overcome on their own."

The single follows the success of their previously released track "Hiccup." Both are featured on the band's upcoming LP, babyface, which sees the band continue to musically chronicle queer experiences and suburban despair through a nostalgic punk sound. Their music boasts the lyrical playfulness of Green Day and blink-182 but sonically has a more hardcore edge.
