Haiku Hands Celebrate 'Pleasure Beast' Album Announcement With Dance-Inducing "Feels So Good"

Today, Australian alternative dance trio Haiku Hands, comprised of Claire Nakazawa, Beatrice Lewis, and Mie Nakazawa, celebrate their upcoming sophomore album, Pleasure Beast, set to release December 1, with the release of a thumping pop banger, "Feel So Good." A Gorillaz and Fatboy Slim-inspired cut, the track is a stellar work of euphoric dance-punk carried by a propulsive breakbeat and boasts an all-star production team of Dan Farber and Josh Fountain.
Opening with summery, relatively mellow beats and vocals, the track soon launches into an anthemic sound collage fueled by intensifying production and stunning harmonics. Together, the three-piece sing, "Let it out / Yeah it feels so good / That it makes you want to cry / Make it loud," inspiring listeners everywhere to celebrate our fleeting existence and keep dancing. Overall, the irresistible single highlights the dance-punk trio's ability to blend an intensely physical approach to music-making with their genuine zest for life and unkempt exuberance.
Speaking of the single, Claire Nakazawa says, "I recorded my vocals for 'Feels So Good' two nights before I gave birth, so the chorus 'let it out it feels so good it makes you want to cry' took on a whole new meaning. The music is inspired by Fatboy Slim's anthemic dance vibe and Gorillaz."
Lewis added, "'Feels So Good' is a song about speaking your truth into a world that would often much prefer you to stay quiet, polite, in line, and obedient. It can be speaking loud political truths or quiet needs and wants to the people closest to you. This song is a dedication to those moments in your life when you can be brave enough to find your voice and let it out."
The upcoming album, Pleasure Beast, serves as a sonic exploration into the minds of Haiku Hands. From a four-on-the-floor sweaty moshpit to a tropical island dream bath, the songs on the album soundtrack the different states and stories that Claire, Beatrice, and Mie have found themselves in since their debut, self-titled release in 2020. For this next release, the trio has weaved together their diverse musical backgrounds to embark on an energetic journey through the absurdity of life, power, parties, and all the feels.
