Fred Again.. is well on his way to becoming a household name in the world of dance music and beyond. Yet, intriguingly enough, it’s not a rapid ascent solely informed by larger-than-life drops or the thrall of hypnotic loops—not that the UK producer, DJ, and artist is lacking in either area—but it is a palpable buzz stemming from the cathartic, human element of his electronic work.

“Danielle (smile on my face)” is the latest taste of Fred Again’s uniquely human dance music that recontexculatizes an acapella sample 070 Shake’s “Nice To Have” into a dynamic, racing, adrenaline-laced affair. The new single also comes hand in hand with the official announcement of Actual Life 3 (January 1 - September 9 2022), which is set to release October 28 via Atlantic Records. The highly-anticipated follow-up to Fred Again..’s Actual Life and Actual Life 2 will follow in the footsteps of his previous project, serving as an autobiographical look into Fred Again..’s life and the interconnected friends, moments, and threads that define the human experience.

As a lead-in into Actual Life 3, “Danielle (smile on my face)” retains all the hallmarks of what makes his previous work so exciting while pushing the envelope for what’s to come. Transforming a sobering acapella into a mesmerizing night out on the dancefloor without sacrificing the underlying conflicting emotions of 070 Shake’s conflicted emotional plea, Fred Again.. once again proves himself an auteur who is crafting a new chapter of dance music. Music you can truly lose and find yourself in.
