Broadside And Magnolia Park's Josh Roberts Battle The Reaper On "Bang" | THE NOISE

Alternative pop rockers Broadside, comprised of vocalist Oliver Baxxter, guitarist Domenic Reid, and bassist Patrick Diaz, are excited to share their new single, "Bang." Featuring Josh Roberts of Magnolia Park, the single is a deceptively upbeat and catchy track about facing your inner demons framed with a plethora of dance-inducing guitar riffs and crashing percussion.

The single opens with a moody collection of synths, bass lines, guitar strumming, and atmospheric vocalizations. Baxxter opens up about their inner turmoil, admitting they "should listen to my daddy's advice."

"'Bang' is a song about feeling like you're living in a haunted body," shared Baxxter. "It's a representation of the lifelong battle with our own mind. Eventually, you turn around and embrace that it all comes to an end." As the instrumentation swirling around his warm vocals build, he shares that the intrusive thoughts in his head are getting louder, leading to a climatic chorus full of buoyant instrumentation juxtaposing dark and poignant lyricism that reveals what's truly in his heart, that he doesn't want to run from "the reaper" anymore.

Roberts's appearance in the second verse is a great match-up, bringing his raw vocal style to a song on such an emotional yet danceable track. He shares his own experience with bottling up his feelings and uses his talent to add another layer of depth and dimension to the carefully crafted and bombastic track.

In addition to the single, the band has also released an invigorating music video for the high-octane single. Viewers watch the trio as they settle in at a shady motel for the evening, winding down before the night takes an unforeseen and strange turn. Suddenly, they realize that doppelgangers of themselves dressed in Elvis-inspired garb are performing on the television, parading as a group called BANG. As the camera cuts to a scene of a stylishly sparkly Roberts, a mysterious Grim Reaper character nabs the pretend band one by one.

Broadside will be hitting the road later this week for several upcoming shows, including dates with Magnolia Park and with Set It Off. Fans can also look forward to seeing them with The Maine in Austin next month for a free show at Domain NORTHSIDE.
